DARAMSUQ (DAMASCUS) — The Syriac Cross Foundation for Care and Development marked the first anniversary of its official registration in Daramsuq on Friday, bringing together the Vatican’s representative in Syria, church leaders, humanitarian organizations and civil society groups for a ceremony highlighting the foundation’s first year of work in the capital. The event was attended by the Apostolic Nuncio to Syria, Monsignor Luigi Roberto Cona, bishops and priests, representatives of international and local humanitarian organizations, civil society groups, and Syriac community organizations, including the Syriac Cultural Association and the Izla Foundation for Women.

DOHA, Sept 18 (Bernama-Xinhua) — Qatar announced Thursday a grant of about 1.3 million litres of fuel to the Gaza Strip to meet humanitarian needs and keep vital services running, particularly in healthcare, according to a statement by the Qatari Foreign Ministry, reported Xinhua. NEW YORK, Sept 17 (Bernama-Xinhua) — Funding shortfalls and Israeli restrictions on the import of critical items are slowing down the response to a deadly Gaza building collapse, UN humanitarians said on Wednesday, reported Xinhua.
