I realize I haven't been on here in awhile. I wanted to update everyone. On his wishes due to his dialysis problems, my #Father was transported to #Hospice yesterday while he was still alert & communicative. Today, the news is bleak & sad. His nurses said that he is closer to passing. :-(

I don’t have a photo, but I have a story of a day where I was in the ED frantically having a 5 minute goals of care conversation with a COVID+ wife to convert her husband next door who was about to #codeblue any minute and had no chance of long term survival to #hospice to triage #ventilators.

All due respect, if you didn’t look like this in the spring of 2020, I don’t really care about your opinion of Dr Fauci

The busyness of the last three weeks since my mom died has dissipated, and all I'm left with is time on my hands to think (and cry,) so I signed up for a 10-week online study course to walk me through my grief. I'm hoping it will help me process my emotions in a healthy way. #grief #hospice

Please listen, @wesstreeting.bsky.social Our hospices have wonderful teams of doctors, nurses and allied health professionals who are doing their best to provide good quality care, but they desperately need more funding. Palliative care should not be an optional extra. #hospice #palliativecare
