Goodyear Announces Second Quarter 2026 Results
Goodyear (NASDAQ:GT) reported second quarter 2026 net sales of $4.25 billion, down 4.8% year over year, with tire unit volume of 36.5 million, down 4.0%. Adjusted for divestitures, organic net sales declined 1.4% due to lower volumes.The company posted a net loss of $204 million (vs. $254 million income a year ago) and an adjusted net loss of $177 million, or adjusted diluted EPS of -$0.61. Total segment operating income fell to $36 million from $159 million, as lower volume, higher tariffs and inflation outweighed a $123 million positive price/mix versus raw materials and $95 million of Goodyear Forward benefits.Regionally, the Americas swung to a $10 million segment loss on 10.5% lower sales, EMEA sales rose 2.1% with a reduced loss of $17 million, and Asia Pacific grew sales 8.1% with segment operating income up to $63 million. Goodyear is optimizing its manufacturing footprint, including a planned closure of its Fayetteville, North Carolina facility, expected to generate about $90 million of Americas segment operating income improvement in 2027 and around $270 million annually from 2028, with total pre-tax charges estimated between $535 million and $565 million.
