Sad to see racist rioting in Thetford. Obviously it’s in a part of the country where the Right is entrenched. But it’s also the place where I once serendipitously happened upon one of the happiest and most benign all-races celebration of Hindu culture (because of the Duleep Singh connection).

There are many egregious elements to Reform's hare-brained plan to turn the boats back. From the military-operational, to the obvious risks to life and human rights violations. I would also add the damage it would do to Anglo-French relations, at a time when we need relations to be strong.

Farage is very much part of the establishment. The very fact that he spends time hobnobbing with the rich, and is never seen doing normal MP things with his constituents, like holding constituency clinics, says it all.
