Major climate impacts on crops in North America and Europe. Major shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and now, potentially, the Red Sea. Transit through the Panama Canal threatened by drought. It's time we started getting serious about #FoodSecurity.

Hello! I’m a #composer and I will be posting my #music as well as my #foodsecurity project: easiest, most pest resistant plants to grow with most efficient use of space while accounting for the changing/weirding climate. Also an inordinate amount of butterfly pics. ❤️ Nice to meet you #gardening
A red hybrid jaboticaba tree with ripe and unripe fruit hanging on the trunk surrounded by small green leaves.
A butterfly sitting on a leaf facing right with dry leaf-like patterns on its wings. There are numerous eyespots along the borders of its wings.
Fruit and leaves in a silver bowl. From left to right: katuk, huazontle, curry berry, physalis grisea.
A chopping block with arranged leaves and vegetables. Top row: dwarf bok choi flowers leaves and seed pods, curly kale, green peas, longevity and Okinawa spinach, Boehmeria cylindrica.
Middle row: moringa, red-veined sorrel, katuk, sissoo, madhatter peppers, mitsuba.
Bottom row is baobab leaf, cucumbers, watermelon radish.

Across Cape Town, South Africa, communities maintain small gardens and keep ancestral recipes alive despite the challenges of rising costs, climate stress, and land pressures. Yet these voices are rarely recognised in policy or mainstream food debates 👇 #FoodSecurity #FoodGrowing #SouthAfrica
