Hi PM @mark-carney.bsky.social, Calgary Climate Hub here. Judging by the responses to this post, this is a REALLY popular idea amongst Canadians. We believe that in 2025 #NationBuilding means #Electrification, not building out more #OilAndGas infrastructure. Happy to chat! #cdnpoli #ClimateChange

Yesterday's post on home #Electrification generated lots of feedback. Nate the House Whisperer @energysmartwv.bsky.social ask about my total energy consumption before and after installing the HVAC HP and HPWH so I crunched the numbers. Electrifying your home results in less energy usage. 🧪🔌💡☀️💨🌊🔋
Electrifying my home has increased electricity consumption by 50%, reduced gas energy consumption by 81% and reduced overall energy consumption by 39%. Over the same time frame heating degree days dropped by -5% and degree cooling days by 14%.
