I think different generations disagree. When I grew up in #EastKilbride in 1960s it was normal to be Scots & British. I've always thought of Scotland within #Britain. I saw #Scotland v #England 😄 at Hampden 0-0 in 1970. For 90 mins I hoped Scotland would beat World Champions; 2 British teams.

The Philipshill Hospital was built in the 1920s as an auxilliary hospital to Glasgow's Victoria Infirmary. It closed in 1992 and of the hospital buidlings were demolished shortly afterwards. Now all that remains is the former hospital chapel. #glasgow #eastkilbride #church #architecture

Outdated from 2022 #EastKilbride is bigger in area & pop than #Paisley & is a city called a town Langlands area of EK will add 600 new homes & ~2,000 - 3,000 to population. EK could expand South West to 15 miles to Kilmarnock. Paisley has little room for expansion wedged between Renfrew & Johnstone

I recently learned that while Paisley is the 5th highest populated settlement in Scotland* it has yet to be afforded city status. This needs to be sorted! (*higher than Perth, Inverness, Stirling, and most recently, Dunfermline.)
