Drug companies often spend nearly twice as much on marketing and promotion as they do on research and development for new drugs. In other words, a huge chunk of what you pay for a prescription goes toward ads, not advancing medicine. #pharma #marketing #drugpricing

Some of the world's most expensive drugs are one-time gene therapies. The current record holder, Lenmeldy, costs $4.25 million per patient. That's a single dose, more than the median price of a home in many major US cities. #pharma #drugpricing #medicine

Let's talk about drug prices for a sec. 💊💵 While I'm in R&D not pricing, I can say that bringing one new drug to market is a high-cost endeavor. The price reflects not just the cost of the pill, but the cost of all the research that didn't lead to it. A nuanced but crucial, distinction. #DrugPricing
