Once upon a time I just admired nudis and sea slugs. But it was not enough. Now apparently I'm creating an R package to celebrate their colour palettes? 😅 First up, my Sydney fave, Hypselodoris bennetti. #rstats #nudibranch #dataviz 🦑🐙🧪 #marinelife #invertebrates
Close up with a beautiful nudibranch on a rocky reef. The lower half of the image is a palette of swatches made from the nudi's vibrant colours.

What is the difference between weather and climate. This #dataviz shows the "Central England" average temperature for periods ranging from 1 day (weather) to 30 years (climate). This shows the climate signal emerging. Note the varying y axis that covers the range of the data.

📊When teaching or giving a talk, do you like presenting plots step by step, revealing e.g. one group at a time? This is often useful for walking through complex results. I made a R package that makes it extremely easy to do this! ggreveal: Reveal a ggplot incrementally #rstats #dataviz #ggplot2

I drew these for the #datafam holiday card exchange, but figured I'd share them for others to use too! Put them on your cards, gift tags, or anywhere that needs a little more #dataviz 📊
Four Christmas trees, each in the style of a different chart, arranged in a two by two grid. Top left is a population pyramid, top right is a network graph, bottom left is a vertical Sankey, and bottom right is a scatter plot

In the contiguous US, for every 10 heat records, there are ~7 cold records, but between 2015 and 2025, this drops to just ~2 cold records for every 10 heat records. THIS chart 📊 is global #climatechange. #dataviz

Where are the tourists from in peninsular Spain? 🏖️Here is a point density map (each point is 50 tourists) in which I represent the origin of tourists in 2022 at the municipal level. #dataviz #rstats
