New Delhi, Sep 22 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Centre has told the Supreme Court that the National Testing Agency (NTA) is being strengthened through a functional-vertical structure, the appointment of senior government officers and the creation of specialised professional positions as part of ongoing reforms. In an additional affidavit filed before the apex court in the batch of petitions concerning reforms in the functioning of the NTA, the Union Ministry of Education said a total of 14 officers, including a Joint Secretary, four Directors, a Joint Director, two Deputy Secretaries, two Under Secretaries, two Section Officers and two Assistant Section Officers, were posted to the examination body in August 2026.

Centre notifies appointment of 14 judicial officers as judges in four High Courts
New Delhi, Sep 19 (SocialNews.XYZ) Acting on the recommendations of the Supreme Court Collegium, the Centre has notified the appointment of 14 judicial officers as judges and additional judges in four High Courts, including Delhi, Jharkhand, Karnataka, and Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. In a post on social media platform X, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal said that the President, in exercise of the powers conferred by the Constitution of India and after consultation with the Chief Justice of India (CJI), was pleased to appoint the judicial officers to the respective High Courts.

Telangana CM urges Centre to sanction 9.56 lakh houses under PMAY-G
Hyderabad, Sep 18 (SocialNews.XYZ) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday urged the Centre to sanction 9.56 lakh houses to the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G). He made the demand during a meeting with Union Rural Development and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here. The Chief Minister thanked the Union Minister for allocating 2 lakh houses to the state in the first phase under the PMAY-G scheme. Revanth Reddy had submitted a representation to the Union Minister in Delhi in July, requesting the sanction of houses for 11,56,915 eligible rural families.

New Delhi, Sep 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked the Central government whether it is contemplating framing a policy to examine the "addiction-causing" design architecture employed by social media platforms. A Bench of Justices Nitin Wasudeo Sambre and Amit Sharma asked Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Chetan Sharma to seek instructions from the Centre on the issue and deferred the hearing by three weeks. The High Court was hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Dr Vikas Kathuria, a Professor of Law and Head of the Centre on Law, Regulation and Technology at BML Munjal University, raising concerns over the design architecture of social media platforms, including infinite scroll, autoplay, algorithmically curated and personalised feeds, notification systems and variable-reward engagement features such as “likes”.
