Celanese Corporation Reports Second Quarter Earnings
Celanese (NYSE: CE) reported second quarter 2026 U.S. GAAP diluted EPS of $1.15 and adjusted EPS of $2.45, its highest adjusted EPS in nearly three years. Net sales were $2.75 billion, up 18% sequentially on 4% higher volumes and 14% higher pricing. Consolidated operating profit was $276 million, adjusted EBIT $470 million, and operating EBITDA $649 million, with margins of 10%, 17%, and 24%.Engineered Materials delivered $1.45 billion in sales and 23% operating EBITDA margin, while Acetyl Chain posted $1.33 billion in sales and 29% operating EBITDA margin. Free cash flow was $140 million. Celanese advanced footprint optimization, including the Ulsan closure and nylon 6,6 network optimization, and expects these actions plus the planned Lanaken acetate tow closure to yield over $50 million in annual fixed-cost savings. For third quarter 2026, the company guides adjusted EPS to $1.35–$1.75 and continues to target about $6.00 adjusted EPS and $700–$800 million of free cash flow for full-year 2026.
