Born 20 January 1930, astronaut Buzz Aldrin. He became the second man to set foot on the Moon, 19 minutes after Neil Armstrong, on 21 July 1969. Sadly, the story about him saying "Good luck, Mr Gorsky" as he descended the ladder was merely apocryphal. #BuzzAldrin

We're celebrating the 96th revolution around the Sun of astronaut Buzz Aldrin. As the Lunar Module pilot on Apollo 11, he was one of the first two humans to walk on the Moon and helped carry out scientific experiments that expanded our understanding of space. #BuzzAldrin #Astronaut #Space #Rocket

Pic of the Day: That time James Marsters fulfilled every little boy's dream & grew up to become an astronaut! (Or at least, he played one on tv... whatever) aka James playing Buzz Aldrin in #Moonshot 2009 #JamesMarsters #BuzzAldrin #Astronaut!
The image depicts two astronauts in white space suits inside a spacecraft. The focal point is on the astronaut in the foreground, showing a clear view of his face through the transparent helmet visor. The helmet is large and white, with a prominent seal around the faceplate. The astronaut's expression is focused, and the lighting casts gentle shadows on his face. In the background, there is another astronaut slightly out of focus, also wearing a similar space suit. The interior of the spacecraft is dimly lit, emphasizing the reflective materials of the suits.
