When a team lost 8 in a row and 31 of 38 with no hope in sight, someone was going to take a fall. The A's fired their pitching coach, and this is not his fault. The GM or manager takes the hit. I figured it would be Mark Kotsay, though, not David Frost, who has done a fair job. #Athletics #MLB

If you want to be encouraged about David Frost's firing: It's if the owner wants to hire his own guy. What I mean is are the A's going to be transferred to a new owner from Fisher to Mark Cuban or whoever? A new owner likely wants to start anew, especially with Vegas getting A's #Athletics #MLB

I'm fine with firing David Frost as the A's GM. You can't sell him or manager Mark Kotsay when the team heads to Vegas in 2028, which I believe is when we will see baseball again. But nothing will change until the A's have a new owner. #Athletics #MLB

People talk about #athletics "young core", but how many kids in that group are assuredly *good*?

Gonna be an interesting GM search. Would imagine any established name would want assurances #athletics will actually spend in Las Vegas. OTOH this current roster may be a daunting task to fix for a first-time hire 🤷🏾‍♂️

Also, Mark Kotsay might not want to buy any furniture just yet for that house he bought in Nevada #athletics

#athletics roster problems in no particular order: They extended four guys who could all be replacement level when Vegas opens. They couldn't extend their best two players. The rest of the offense is either up/down guys or, at best, unproven question marks. *Maybe* two good SPs? Abominable bullpen 🤷🏾‍♂️
