His work bridges traditional print craft with boundary-pushing contemporary techniques, and his practice is deeply rooted in the possibilities of the art form. His path has been defined by global curiosity. The international trajectory of Koichi Yamamoto began in Japan, before taking him to Wyoming in 1983. After graduating with a BFA from Portland's Pacific Northwest College of Art in 1992, he spent several formative years in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.
