Iran wins medals at International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence
TEHRAN โ Iranian students won a gold medal, two silver medals, and a bronze medal at the third edition of the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI 2026), held from August 2-8 in Astana, Kazakhstan. IOAI is the International Science Olympiad in AI for high school students. It aims to inspire young people globally in science, focusing on AI. The competition provides a platform for top AI students selected through national competitions to compete, exchange ideas, and build connections, fostering a dialogue on AIโs opportunities and ethical challenges among students and the community. Shayan Rezaeizadeh grabbed the gold medal, Mohammad-Reza Darvishi, and Mohammad-Amin Nazmfar won the silver medals, while Mani Monjipor received the bronze medal, IRNA reported. This yearโs competition brought together over 120 teams, more than 500 students from 103 countries and territories around the world to compete in AI and machine learning (ML) challenges. Tenancy Tribunal issues new artificial intelligence guidelines amid concerns over 'cases with AI slop'
โThey all have the same pattern,โ he said. โWeโre providing a lot of training to our property managers on how to deal with this and not to panic, because when you get a claim with, say, 200 pages against you, it can be quite intimidating. โA lot of what the AI spits out, is actually also incorrect.โ In a case last year against Property Brokers, a tenant reportedly submitted a 101-page report, along with 215 pages of evidence, asking for $40,000 in compensation โ all seemingly created by AI. The tenant ended up being awarded just $80. Faulkner said these kinds of claims not only require more time and resources, but also cause delays in the Tenancy Tribunal. However, the use of AI is not only being used by tenants, but by landlords and property managers, says Tenancy Advisory director Sarina Gibbon. Her organisation provides education and advice around residential tenancy law, and Gibbon was less sympathetic about the bloated and complex claims caused by AI. Quality assessment of artificial intelligence responses in erectile dysfunction: a comparative ...
Artificial intelligence (AI)โbased language models are increasingly explored as tools for interpreting and applying clinical guideline recommendations. In urology, the European Association of Urology (EAU) recently introduced a guideline-specific chatbot; however, its comparative performance relative to contemporary general-purpose large language models (LLMs) remains unclear. In this structured comparative study, five AI systemsโthe EAU Guidelines Bot, ChatGPT-5, Gemini 2.5 Pro, Copilot โ Smart GPT-5, and Perplexity Proโwere evaluated using 13 clinical questions derived directly from strongly recommended statements in the EAU erectile dysfunction (ED) guidelines. Responses were independently assessed by three senior reviewers across five predefined domains: relevance, clarity, structure, clinical utility, and factual accuracy, using a 5-point Likert scale. The primary outcome of the study was the composite performance score, which was calculated as the mean of the five domain scores. Inter-rater reliability was calculated using ICC(2,k), and differences among models were analyzed with the Friedman test followed by Holm-adjusted Wilcoxon post-hoc comparisons. Significant performance differences were observed across all domains (all p < 0.001). Complex healthcare policies are often challenging to implement. That's a reality states across the country will deal with as new Medicaid work requirements get rolled out next year. The new federal rule, part of the Budget Reconciliation Act of 2025 (HR 1), requires adults enrolled under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) expansion of Medicaid eligibility to complete at least 80 hours per month of qualifying work or community engagement activities or meet exemption criteria to maintain their coverage starting Jan. 1. A new Special Communication published Aug. 7 in JAMA Health Forum suggests that artificial intelligence may enhance implementation of this policy by helping state Medicaid agencies keep eligible individuals enrolled in Medicaid. Going forward, the use of AI can help states and local governments roll out and improve other healthcare policies, too. Medicaid work requirements introduce administrative complexities into an already very complex program. It's already very complicated to figure out how to apply for Medicaid and stay enrolled.
