The Melancholy Thistle had its lovely Autumn hat on but probably gone by tomorrow as small flocks of Goldfinch were spotted zooming around. Still a very good end & new life for this magnificent thistle that has given me such joy. #allotmentlife remember fresh water for birds & insects ☀️ 5/5

Red Admiral butterflies rested in the sun on their favourites .. the leathery Fig leaves. Honeybees were having love-ins in the Meadow Cranesbill blooms while tiny hoverflies were feeding in re-flowering Hedge Bedstraw. A small Field Grasshopper cast a mighty shadow. #insects #allotmentlife 4/5
