The main doorway from the replica Norse longhouse at Haroldswick on Unst in Shetland. The island has the remains of at least 60 medieval Norse longhouses, many still un-excavated. 📸 My own. #AdoorableThursday #Unst #Shetland

The 13th Century vestry doorway inside St Giles, Cambridge. It was the external south doorway of an earlier church, demolished in the 1870s and replaced with the current building which @YalePevsner thought 'serious and bleak', though the interior furnishings are sumptuous. #ADoorableThursday

Back at Kilpeck Church, Herefordshire. Pevsner described the decoration as ‘sumptuous.’ Honestly one of the most remarkable things I’ve laid eyes on. #adoorablethursday

#AdoorableThursday there are many big, imposing doors to Lincoln Cathedral, and this one, tucked away at the side, is not one of them.
A small, square wooden door tucked away in a corner on the south side of Lincoln Cathedral. It is surrounded by lots of elegantly carved stonework.
