This is one of the very few documentary sources relating to family I possess. It is, at least, an absolute doozy. #1920s
Copy of a typed letter from J. Lyons and Co. to Mr Popp, 373 Central Drive, BLACKPOOL (my paternal grandfather), dated 22nd June, 1929. The letter reads, "Dear Mr. Popp. It has been brought to my attention that you did not receive a Wedding Cake from the Firm, for your services. I very much regret, I was not told of your forthcoming Wedding, and whenever you would care to have the Cake, perhaps you will let me know. Yours truly," Appears to be hand signed by A. Jenkins.

Oof, pour me into a Fortuny ensemble and mix me a cocktail please. My long-ish work commute felt longer than usual today but anyway, home now and the weekend is upon us. Happy Friday to you all. Late #1920s #nasjonalmuseet #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

It is a jewel in dress form, an emerald seemingly engraved with architectural geometric motifs but in fact embroidered in sinuous swirls. A dress in which to shimmy as the band plays faster, #1920s #PalaisGalliera #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

There is not very much light pollution where we live and so the sky last night was a cloth of stars, reminding me of these two celestial garments. One is a #1950s dress by Sophie Gimbel and the other a #1920s velvet coat by Yvonne May #museumatFIT #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

This has been a favourite #1920s dress for a long time but I had never before seen the more detailed images of the arrangement of the beaded shapest. I have a whole new appreciation for Poiret’s design choices and the hands sewing the beads #museumatfit #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡
