This will be forever one of my favourite garments in the V&A. It is a late #1890s coat from Marshall & Snelgrove, featuring hand embroidered sweet cicely flowers with white felt petals that float on top of blue velvet, V&A #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

I find historic shoes fascinating mainly because they are dinky & I have enormous hobbit feet. School shoe shopping was beset by drama, no patent pumps for me but sturdy lace ups. These late #1890s sparkly shoes are like little gems #FashionMuseumBath #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

The fabric of this mid #1890s dress positively glows. The contrast of midnight blue velvet against the salmon pink voided sections make for an almost fluorescent effect which must have been further accentuated by walking. Quite the eyeful #UofNH #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡
