Rarely use Shah/Wayfair as pointers to health of consumers (and what does it say when best growth since 2020 for $AMZN of furniture is +9%), but note comments about strong sequential growth in Q2 as well as outsized growth in higher-end product. $W $WSM $RH $ETD $ARHS $XLY

Depot, Lowes paint picture of stable sales & margin in end-market hugely linked to (very low) housing turnover in ๐Ÿ‘ on US consumer. Store traffic still down offset by ticket. $LOW still (unusually) out-comping $HD although that gap shrank this Q. $XLY $XRT $XLF $WSM $W

Lots to like at Target: comp better & traffic up on 4-year stack. Inventory down 4 to 59 days, lowest in 2 years. But just as much, $TGT is read on strength of US consumer across board. Discretionary apparel, hardlines, beauty all outpaced total sales ๐Ÿ”ฅ $WMT $AMZN $XLY $XLF $XRT

Upscale consumer helps but ultimately only powerful brands & product deliver consistent strength. Vs peers from $W to $RH to $ARHS, who keep cyring macros, $WSM keeps delivering. And transformation in profitability delivers on cashflow. Over past year alone $1bn+ in buybacks. ๐Ÿซก

For a 'luxury' brand, Arhaus pulls promotional lever all too often when sales weaken, so pinch of salt needed. But like Wayfair, points to significant pick-up in furniture orders, also evidenced by a jump in customer deposits. $ARHS $W $WSM $RH $XLY $XLF

January retail sales +4.7%, fastest pace of past three months. Storm benefits evident at DIY retail, while online was another standout. Low variance from average by category other than furniture which has taken leg down in recent months $XLY $XLF $AMZN $WMT $LOW $HD $W $WSM

Also worth noting: $ARHS is spending a ton of money & claims a lot of success (& potential) for its newer, larger showrooms. Between 2022-25, showroom count went up from 72 to 107, or 49%. Over that period, annual sales are up just 12% ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ $WSM $RH $W
