Many days into protests over bike lane removal in Toronto - a reminder that it is not just cranky bike lane users & other cyclists who are speaking out to defend the need for bike lanes. An Ontario healthcare coaltion gave this support all on their own. Kudos for theml! www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Probably my most controversial political opinion is that red light cameras are not only a good thing, but necessary for protecting vulnerable road users and ensuring that enforcement isn't left up to biased policing. (Note: traffic / red light cameras are not Flock cameras, do not conflate them).

Black text on a white page that reads:

We know how to make our streets safer, so we did it 600 times.

Red light cameras reduce red light running by 80% and T-bone crashes by 65%. Most importantly, they help New Yorkers get home safely.

That's why we installed new red light cameras at 600 intersections across the five boroughs to help stop dangerous driving before tragedy strikes, and make our streets safer for everyone who walks, rolls, drives, or takes the bus.

Felt like an SUV owner driving around alone when I had a cargo bike only loaded up with a sandwich this week 💀

Did you know CTA once had more bus routes serving Evanston, along streets like Main and Grant? They provided east-west connectivity that is currently lacking. CTA has a new survey on bus network improvements; Fill it out to ask for better bus service in Evanston: www.surveymonkey.com/r/bu….

Seattle stood out amount World Cup host cities this year because our mass transit made getting hella people to games easy, cars can never achieve that, self driving or no

It's fundamentally anti-urban, pro-car-dependency business model. On-demand, scheduled rides can never scale the way fixed route transit does, and so this kind of transit can only work if transit is only used by those of us unfortunate enough not to drive in a car dependent place.

calling for a moratorium on rhetorical rounding. redlining is bad, but it is not genocide. data centers are annoying, but they are not rumbling csam farms. nimbys are counterproductive, but they're not pro-homelessness monsters. no your pet cause isn't a special case. yes "jokes" count.
