"We would rather eat rocks and drink gasoline than be split up" - Compulsion Games has officially completed its buyout from Xbox and now owns all its IP. Players who buy games like South of Midnight are now supporting the studio directly, its CEO says. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/we-woul...
if a white supremacist says anything you should assume every single word is a lie unless completely independently verified by an entirely unrelated source. if they say it is thursday you should ask an expert on days of the week. this should be the bare minimum standard in this media landscape
Every dollar billionaire JK Rowling makes is a dollar she will spend on destroying the lives of trans people - a scapegoating driven by Epstein-class billionaires to distract us from the ultra-rich draining our wealth, killing our planet, sabotaging social cohesion, and destroying dissent.

one thing i do want to say is that the main roadblock to "getting into kingdom hearts" is not the series release structure or having to watch mobile game cutscenes. its this fucking platforming room you have to do three times over while mickey mouse clubhouse theme is blaring in your soul
Now that the US has kidnapped Maduro, stolen Venezuela's oil, looted its gold, and taken its uranium, there's no more coverage on poverty, human rights, the shift to a democratic system, the economy, the lifting of sanctions etc It's almost as if those aspects were only used to justify intervention

Not shocked. Not speaking to the quality of the game, but rather the prolonged dev time, slow/bizarre rollout, and weird marketing decisions. Also, saying earlier this year, "we fired all the core staff" doesn't exactly inspire players to pick up your game, does it? A failure of Riot management.
Seeing this yesterday, it's genuinely staggering how many man hours and how much money has been squandered chasing live-service. They effectively limited the output of some of their best studios in pursuit of something that ultimately failed. It's really bad all around.
As much as I’d love this to be true, it’s fundamentally not how the stock market works. The stock market does not “react to customer retention” - it is very specifically focused on projected YoY growth. Existing customers are useless unless they can be converted into growth.
pondering the GTA VI “you have to get gas for your car!” thing. I think they’re gonna do RDR2 horse stuff but with a car. you’ll talk to your car, love it with all your heart until it explodes at the end saving your life somehow. it’ll look like a Firebird and be named something medium homophobic.
I'm faster with Godot. I don't have a good explanation for Why, since all the usual But Unreal Has All The Tooling! etc. But. I spent half a decade dragging to get anything done with Unreal, and then I popped over to Godot and just stood up another project in like a week? It's less "noisy" for me?
August 20 2002, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 debuted on the N64 in the Americas(exclusively)! Not only was this the last official N64 game published, its release came 8 months after any other N64 game (Bomberman 64 Arcade) and almost a YEAR after the Gamecube and Playstation 1&2 versions were released!
To me, this is complaining that the singer in a band is only singing and not also playing bass, guitar, and drums. Submitting to the movement and music of others -- and getting into sync with that -- is what these games are great at. The others just happen to be a developer creating a wall of sound.
Been really enjoying Sinking City 2. Just really solid survival horror stuff. Great lore, scares, atmos, writing, etc. I do miss the dialog trees from the first game, and there's a distinct lack of music throughout, but overall it's a big step up in terms of control, performance and graphics!
Renderware: one of those game engine logos you'd often see in early 2000s games intros, especially for the PS2 where it was a boon to those struggling with how that console did things with graphics. At its peak in 2003, Renderware claimed they held 70% of the market for external middleware.
New sesh of our first-time playthrough of Majora's Mask, N64 version. And we've got otherworldly encounters ahead of us! More than ever, Majora feels like a spiritual successor to Link's Awakening in how much oddball stuff it has fun playing around with.
