Alright. I genuinely, unequivocally, could not disagree with this statement more. Gamers should be able to enjoy whatever the hell they want. It does not effect you. If someone told me I'm not "allowed" to enjoy a game I love I would actually laugh. Worst take of the day.
calling the offices of the feckless, out of touch political class is a thing to do, and we should do it. but it is not the beginning or end of taking care of those around us, and we should use whatever we are feeling right now to help those who will suffer most from our ruling class’s choices.
Since a joke I made in the comments of a friend's Twitch stream is being taken angrily by people as gospel, a gentle reminder: - If it's not in the game itself or an official tie-in product, it's not canon. - I don't own characters from games. I can say my intention when writing, but that's it.
New Starship Troopers film is happening at Sony Pictures, written and directed by Neill Blomkamp (District 9). ➡️ deadline.com/2025/03/star... The new film will go back to the 1959 source material by Robert A. Heinlein and not be based on the 1997 Paul Verhoeven movie.
next week, game developers from all over the world will convene in san francisco for gdc, an industry centerpiece. but recent events like the abduction of a pro-palestine student, anti-trans orders, and trump's aggression toward canada have some canceling their plans aftermath.site/gdc-2025-tra...
I won't claim it's the best one but my current favourite game guide is the official cluebook for Ultima Underworld. it's written from the perspective of a grumpy wizard writing to his pupil/child with guidance on how to navigate the Stygian Abyss, complete with snarky little comments.
Dear fellow weirdos (e.g. Patreon supporters), my belated first bonus post for March is now up. This time, I've shared a piece of lost-ish media from the dustiest corner of my record bin: a rip of the radio-only edition of Marillion's 1985 album Misplaced Childhood www.patreon.com/posts/march-...
Hello! My GDC talk, Justifying Absurd Expenditures on Fonts and Other Silly Features, will be on Friday, March 21st, 10:00-11:00am, Room 2002, West Hall. I'll discuss the development of font features for Pentiment and how to make all your dreams come true. Wow! schedule.gdconf.com/session/just...

Do I know anyone (or do my moots know anyone) who can speak to me for a Rolling Stone story about IRL stream snipers and how streamers can remain safe in these situations? Ideally I'd like to chat with a content creator or two and an expert in digital harassment/safety as well! Signal boost!
If a game flips union, NU members who've never worked a union game before suddenly become SAG-Eligible (not a must join, that would happen much later, and only if you 1: keep accepting union work over and over without joining and 2: do not live in a right-to-work state) They don't get fired.
X logged me out of the secondary account I made due to what they think is "Suspicious Activity" and now I can't log in without going through X's horrible automated help system. The universe doesn't want me on X. I'm not doing ANYTHING on X until I get my primary account back, then I might lock it.
I have found a new video game to play called PERIPETEIA. It's only available for the personal computer, and you must have a strong constitution in order to play it, but, it has lots of very long hallways that don't go anywhere, and many boring elevator rides that last 30+ seconds. Try it.
Alright, I've got my #C2E2 badge in hand, and still looking to sell it. It came with an additional Friday pass as well. Normally I'd still go, but that's a hefty chunk of change I can get back. Also I have a Crit Role live show ticket up for grabs. Sec 112, Row H, Seat 8 Serious inquiries only.
A step toward smartphones: the Noka 7110; the first cellphone to come with a WAP browser. I had a similar Nokia at the time but not with WAP access. I wouldn't have a phone with WAP until 2004 but it was a pretty snazzy LG with dual cameras and video chat too.
