Czech President Pavel warns: “If Putin wins in Ukraine, we all lose.” He compared secret U.S.-Russia talks on territorial concessions to the 1938 Munich Agreement, calling them dangerously familiar. Letting Russia emerge victorious from this war, he stressed, would be a defeat for all of Europe.
EU Defense Commissioner Andrius Kubilius says Europe must plan for the possibility that NATO’s Article 5 might “not work” when needed. With the U.S. pivoting to the Pacific and signaling it wants Europe to take more responsibility, Kubilius stresses the need for backup security guarantees/readiness.
Tom Cotton here is lying about what constitutes sailors being hors de combat (though these guys were never valid military targets), and he knows he is lying about it. Unarmed, clinging to capsized wreckage, these guys were clearly shipwrecked and the orders to fire on them manifestly illegal.
Hi All, free weekend update is out. This was the best week for Ukraine/Europe since November 5, 2024. The new US Security Strategy confirms without a doubt that Trump is out to attack Europe (and cripple Ukraine). After months of a con, the truth is undeniable. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...
In Kostiantynivka, a man leaving his brother’s funeral, killed by a Russian drone, was himself struck by an FPV. He suffered a broken leg and shrapnel wounds. Fighters from the "Predator" brigade heard the blast and his cries, rushed in, gave first aid and evacuated him. Russia's war on civilians.
Europe must have its own tech-infrastructure. It's too dangerous to be dependent on U.S. companies. We need to replace Amazon servers, Google search, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, ChatGPT, Nvidia, What'sApp etc with European versions. Or we might just be destroyed from within by fascist propaganda.
“If we allow Russia to come out of this conflict as a victor, we have all lost” - very important and timely words from Czech President Petr Pavel. The cost to stop a growing evil today will always be lower than the cost to stop it tomorrow. And not just in money.
We need to stop using any U.S. tech. It will be the end for us if we continue. U.S. tech is screwing our brains with propaganda and conspiracy theories, and they can be turned off for us if the moron in the White House has a bad day. It's a matter of survival.
Potential impact if Europe fail to support Ukraine. The lack of funding and feeling of betrayal might cause the Ukrainian armed forces to collapse. The results would be another 5 - 10M refugees flooding western Europe, a Russia that controls Ukrainian industry and a Russian advance far into the EU.
Donald Trump Jr. suggested his father might walk away from Ukraine if no peace deal is reached, citing corruption in Kyiv and calling Zelensky “a borderline deity” created by the left. Speaking at the Doha Forum, Trump Jr. said unpredictability is his father’s strength. Delusional idiot.
This is the red line. Not just for Ukraine, but all of Europe. Yet the Europeans continue to choose relative temporary comfort at the cost of unimaginable death and terror in the foreseeable future instead. Russia must be defeated and expelled from Ukraine to achieve peace.
India is reportedly set to help Russia produce drones that could be used against Ukraine. Moscow is offering tech transfers and battlefield experience in return. A delegation from Russia’s FPV drone center visited India with Putin, signaling deepening defense ties. Modi called Russia a “true friend”
I find the seemingly standard public education/reenactor phrase, "every Roman soldier was a [combat] engineer" more than a bit frustrating. Every Roman soldier could be a *laborer.* The legions also had much higher status specialist engineers, the praefectus fabrum or architectus. Different jobs!
i think an overriding theme of american politics today is that so many elites think politics is gamesmanship; that its intra in-group signaling and posturing without any severe material effects. that there is a hard floor we can't actually sink beneath, that the bottom can't fall out. and buddy
Russia is prepared to take in millions of labour migrants from India [to replace the male population wiped out in the “SVO”], according to First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov following the Russia–India summit in New Delhi. He said the country is ready to accept an unlimited number of...
Russia’s Investigative Committee has put Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces commander “Magyar” on an international wanted list, accusing him of “terrorism” and the killing of Russian war reporter Hanna Prokofieva in a March car blast in Kursk. Brovdi replied: “Annushka has already spilled the oil…”
Russia’s major milblogger Yuri Podolyaka says that after 3.5 years of war the army still can’t provide basics - underwear, socks, even uniforms. Troops buy their own kit or rely on volunteers, while the Defence Ministry knows about the problem and does nothing.
Wow. This says *everything* about the German defence debate, really. For YEARS experts have fretted over public opinion on defence spending and how it would be impossible to justify spending over 1 or 2%. Turns out 35% (!!!!) of Germans think we’re already spending OVER 5 % of GDP. WTH.
Trump’s outgoing Ukraine envoy Kellogg seems convinced a resolution to Russia’s aggression is close, saying only “a couple of issues” remain, namely Ukrainian territorial concessions and the ZNPP. As if handing a fortress to the aggressor would end the war rather than trigger the next one.
The Russian shadow fleet tanker Kairos, damaged by a Ukrainian naval drone, is now off Bulgaria’s coast. Bulgarian authorities say a Turkish tug towed the burning vessel into their waters and then left it. Rough seas on Dec 6 prevented boarding. The crew has enough food and water for several days.
Now Orban uses war propaganda to influence the elections that he knows he’s likely to lose. This is literally what the regime in Georgia brainwashed its supporters with - if the opposition comes to power, we will immediately be at war with Russia. They are all the same.
Zelensky confirmed that Umerov and Gen. Hnatov are en route to Europe from the U.S., where they’ve been engaged in backchannel peace talks. He expects a full briefing, especially on what the Americans conveyed from their Moscow contacts and which negotiation points the U.S. is now willing to adjust.
In Russia, disabled veterans are increasingly falling prey to property scams when trying to spend their insurance payouts on housing. One such case involves 23-year-old Roman, who lost his limbs in the war against Ukraine and was caught in the so-called “granny scheme”...
In the center stands Berehynia – the same figure that crowns the Independence Monument in Kyiv. In my latest Sunday Letter (free to read), I shared what she represents, the sculptor behind her, and more remarkable Ukrainian sculptures – especially War www.patreon.com/posts/sunday...
Hungarian PM Viktor Orban warned that if his party loses the 2026 election, Hungary could be dragged into war with Russia. Speaking in Kecskemet, Orban claimed, without evidence, that Brussels-backed parties would push Hungary into conflict, while only a “national government” could prevent it.
Europe entering its toughest phase in managing the rift with the U.S. over Ukraine. Trump’s new National Security Strategy warns Europe risks being "wiped away" unless it changes, while European leaders fear a U.S.-Russia deal that forces Zelensky to concede Donbas without firm security guarantees.
🇺🇸‼️🇺🇦 Why Trump is ready to recognize the occupation of Crimea and part of Ukraine – and what it threatens the world ❌A quick diplomatic victory for Washington is a long-term strategic defeat for Ukraine and for the international order. Read more 👀⬇️ theukrainianreview.info/why-trump-is...
Please don't lose focus of what's on the ground: russia's targeted attacks continue to plunge Ukrainians into severe power outages, aiming to freeze us this winter. Here's what I experience today. The Int'l Criminal Court called russian attacks on Ukraine's energy grid a crime against humanity.
Peskov says Russia “conceptually” supports Trump’s new National Security Strategy but will watch whether it’s actually implemented. He claims points like no NATO expansion and a focus on dialogue suit Putin - but warns the American “Deep State” may try to sabotage it.
Since day one, Western reporting overestimates Ru's strength and underestimates Ukraine, subtly legitimizes Ru's aggression by repeating various Ru pretexts for the war, and overwhelmingly pities Ukraine, subtly creating the impression that their loss is a foregone conclusion.
Soldiers in Benin appeared on state TV, claimed to remove President Patrice Talon, and dissolved all institutions. The self-declared "Military Committee for Refoundation" closed borders and suspended the constitution. Gunfire is also reported near the presidency. Talon’s status remains unclear.
Classic Russia. Amid ongoing fighting, locals accuse mercenaries of the “African Corps” — Wagner’s successor — of grave abuses. Refugees told the Associated Press that fighters, operating with Mali’s army, are responsible for extrajudicial executions, mass detentions, rapes, scorched‑earth tactics
🇺🇸🇪🇺 Encroachment on the EU’s Subjectivity 😳 Musk demanded to dissolve the EU and claimed that individual countries must regain sovereignty to represent their people better. He even compared the EU to Nazis… Read more 👀⬇️ theukrainianreview.info/encroachment...
🙏🇺🇦 Zelensky: This week alone, Russia has fired over 1,600 strike drones, about 1,200 guided bombs, and almost 70 missiles of various types at Ukraine. There was another strike today: over 240 drones and five ballistic missiles. Unfortunately, there are fatalities in Slovyansk and Chernihiv.
Fascinating that the idea - entirely made of nonsense - is to basically claim that modern Baptists represent the same tradition as third and fourth century rigorists who denied readmission into the Church to the lapsed after the Decian (250) and Diocletianic (303-313) persecutions.
Today in 1972, as Apollo 17 astronauts Eugene Cernan, Harrison “Jack” Schmitt, and Ron Evans were rocketing toward the Moon, one of them looked back and took this iconic photograph, the first to capture a fully-illuminated round Earth and the only one taken by a human being.
🇵🇱 Poland has applied to Interpol to search for two Ukrainians suspected of sabotage, - RMF24 "Red" warrants for Yevgeny Ivanov and Oleksandr Kononov. They are considered the perpetrators of sabotage on the Polish railway, which, according to the investigation, was coordinated by Russia.
