MLB's ABS review system has been much more enjoyable than the older replay review system. I guess balls and strikes are just easier to review, so it's quicker, but the results are way more fun. I'm meh about the pitch clock and zombie runners, and I still hate the universal DH.
Hey y'all, Rob Farley @drfarls.bsky.social, who lives in Kentucky, explains the situation there with respect to replacing senators. A lot of what's being speculated just can't happen. Or isn't useful. Or something. Anyway, it's always nice to use as many facts as you can to speculate!
Zelensky says the shortage of Patriot systems is "absurd" & repeats his claim that "[Ukrainian] production would be โsufficient โ not only to defend Ukraine but also to โ assist โpartners who need โthem," if only Kyiv "receives the licences." Honest question: could Ukraine really build these at scale?
A Russian man is waiting in line at a gas station. โIโve had enough of this,โ says the man to his wife. โTake the wheel, Iโm going to go shoot Putin.โ Two hours later he returns and sits back in his seat. โDid you shoot him?โ Asks the wife. โNo, the line to shoot Putin is longer than this one!โ
UK judge rules that Western insurers can skip payouts to Nord Stream's owners because the pipeline bombers, whoever they were ๐, acted on motives "driven by the war" in Ukraine, triggering the insurance policies' (standard) "war exclusion." www.ft.com/content/c8ca...

any time i am bored enough to glance at LinkedIn, all i see are posts like: I want to thank all my amazing colleagues for all their help getting this AI-multiplied project off the ground, and I'm thrilled to present SkyCloudX, a new flyshare service that aggregates local attack-drone services.
BROWDER: For Putin to end the war under current circumstances means losing power. In Russia, when somebody loses power, itโs not an elegant exit. Thereโs no Putin Presidential Library heโs going to retire to. Heโll go to jail at best, or die at worst. So, heโs going to carry on.
BROWDER: Russia is getting hit harder and harder. And for a country that was once viewed as a superpower, precisely because of its strong military, it can no longer be viewed as such. And without a strong military, Russia kind of has nothing, because its economy is not very big.
Holy cope. Russiaโs online propagandists have two main options when Ukraine successfully strikes Russia: 1) Claim the strike came from another country 2) Claim the strike was done by the West (extra pay for using words like UK, NATO, MI6, Kaja Kallas, Boris Johnson, Bandera)
๐ Kirov - Russian Lukoil has closed almost all its gas stations, triggering fuel crisisโฆ Governor Alexander Sokolov has taken personal control of the situation and created an emergency response team that will monitor fuel supplies daily, control prices at gas stations, and keep residents informed.
Carter was ridiculed for personally approving WH staff requests to use the tennis court. โIn the latest example of Trumpโs deep involvement in โฆ reshap[ing] the White House โฆ, [POTUS] was personally engaged in several aspects of the helipad project, from price negotiations to design minutiae โฆ.โ
I know you mean well but I kindly ask you to stop saying โI hope it ends soonโ to me (or any Ukrainian really) . It feels very , very triggering. I also want it to end soon , but you see, it doesnโt , itโs been more than 12 years of it not ending , with more than 4 of them being absolute hell, with
1/ Today's Ukrainian strikes against a Russian oil refinery in distant Omsk are being greeted with gloom by Russian warbloggers. They say that their predictions of increasingly wide-ranging Ukrainian raids were ignored, but are now coming true. โฌ๏ธ bsky.app/profile/kate...
Zelenskyy in an interview with the Financial Times: When it is no longer a hundred drones but a thousand flying towards Moscow, Putin will get the message. When the dictator feels the strikes first-hand, his advisers will recommend that he move beyond the Urals. www.ft.com/content/6ca8...
Prominent Ukrainian blogger close to the air defense forces, Mykolaivsky Vanek, states that Ukraine failed to intercept a single ballistic missile during Russia's attack last night. โAnother well-known blogger, unmanned systems expert and advisor to the Minister of Defense,

Polandโs aid drop shows it acts strictly out of self-interest. Warsaw gave massive help when the threat felt existential but essentially stopped once Ukraine survived. This collapse also explains why Zelensky won't appease Nawrocki. Ukraine relies less on Poland than in 2022
