www.abc.net.au/news/2025-12... Moreton Bay City Council in court over breaching the #HumanRights of #homeless people. Complaining, “but what about enforcing our ordinances” while trashing peoples lives is disgraceful. #HousingIsAHumanRight #auspol #MoratoriumOnEvictions #HousingCrisis #qldpol
Labor has ignored experts on the social media ban is is now putting young Australians at risk - all for their own political interests. Same can be said for climate, gambling & other issues. They really are Lib-lite - & increasingly more Lib than lite #auspol
“Offshore gas companies pay no royalties, which means they get the product that they’re selling for free.” – Senator Larissa Waters, Leader of the Australian Greens ✍️ Add your name to the petition calling on the government to fix our gas export laws: nb.australiainstitute.org.au/fix_gas_expo...
I'm not a Green's member, nor am I a member of One Nation. My question for The West Australian, however, is why the agreement of these (and other) parties is "an unholy alliance," when the agreement of Labor and the Libs on the other side is not called out? #auspol thewest.com.au/politics/sta...
Why are we listening & platforming so many non experts about this ban? I don't like it as I know the real reason underpinning it - & I think we have big unaddressed issues with the ENTIRE info eco-system - but if experts said it was good then I'd be for it. They don't! #auspol
The mismatch between commentary about the social media ban in MSM/ABC compared with commentary in independent media should concern every Australian. We see the same with so many issues from commentary on climate to crime to immigration - and so much more! Why? #auspol
"The $360 billion cost of the AUKUS submarines... was [approved] by the government without a brief from Treasury” – Dr Richard Denniss, co-CEO, The Australia Institute ✍️ Sign our petition urging a parliamentary inquiry into AUKUS https://nb.australiainstitute.org.au/aukus_parliamentary_inquiry_now
Tune in now to 3CR radio in Melbourne/Naarm to hear Uncle Robbie Thorpe interview Chief Na’moks and Gwii Lok’im Gibuu of the Wet’suwet’en and Gitxsan nations—visiting Australia for the first time to meet friends here and tell Woodside to piss off from their unceded lands
"[State governments] are promoting the idea that burning huge quantities of plastic, clothing, and food waste is somehow the answer to the climate crisis. Yeah, right." Read the full piece: https://thepoint.com.au/opinions/251209-waste-incinerators-the-latest-bin-fire-in-australian-climate-policy

Sick Israeli Death Ader, Far-right Israeli Minister Ben-Gvir declared 100 Israeli doctors expressed their readiness to administer lethal injections to Palestinian prisoners if executions were carried out. The World Medical Association expressed disgust, provocation, as did human rights organizations
Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territory, condemned on Monday “brutality of the Israeli genocide” in Gaza, saying it was carried out “with the complicity of far too many states” At the Doha Forum. Read article: 👇 www.middleeastmonitor.com/20251209-un-...
I just saw a funny clip: Jay Leno (to President Obama): What's this thing with Trump and you ... what's he got against you? Obama: This all dates back to when we were growing up together in Kenya, constant run-ins on the soccer field. He wasn't very good. #USPolitics 😂
Socialism for red state farmers! Oh the Hypocrisy.. President Donald Trump announced a $12 billion farm aid package on Monday a boost to farmers who have struggled to sell their crops while getting hit by rising costs after the president raised tariffs on China as part of a broader trade war.
Bluesky has also asked the @australia.theguardian.com account to put in its age, and is even more restrictive. Guardian Australia can't use @bsky.app, though 3rd party posts are still going through. I won't put GdnAus's 2013 launch as birth date in case it nukes the account. Maybe I'll try 1821
Great to see Aus media covering this important visit from chief Na'Moks to Murujuga, WA. A reminder that Na'Moks and his delegation will be in Naarm/Melbourne this week: come and meet them this Thursday 6:15pm at Trades Hall (see flyer below for details). Hope to see you there!
