I genuinely don't understand these people who say "if Jews accepted Jesus, Israel would stop doing genocide." Ignoring that there are hundreds of millions of Christian Zionists and only 15 million Jews in the world...Christians aren't exactly known for NOT doing settler-colonialism.
Had a dream where there was a PS2 tie-in game for the 2006 remake of When A Stranger Calls, and for some reason there was a hidden mode where if the game detected you were using a fight stick instead of a standard controller, it would activate a new, harder difficulty mode with a more aggro Stranger
Growing up as a ND girl for me meant feeling like I learned how to be a person late, but ALSO how to be a *girl* late. I didn't know how to put in a ponytail until I was like 13! I feel like there's less equivalent for boys; femininity has this load-bearing requirement to look effortless and innate.
My signatureβs on the line, so, now itβs time for shark book summer. Iβve been waiting a long time for this. Thirty years ago, I hammered away at a big shark novel of my own before I realized I had fragments rather than a story. Also I was in middle school. But now? Now, the water feels just fine
There wasn't a problem with trans people in sports at any level. Trans women have never dominated any sport. If trans people were proportionately represented in women's Olympic gold medals (just to take an easy example) we'd see a few trans women take gold every year, instead of zero ever.
One thing I haven't seen anyone note yet is the wording of the AIPAC victory lap post about Massie. Did you see how they referred to "our community"? Inferring that they are the Jewish community? They are deliberately FEEDING antisemitic conspiracy theories and you'll never convince me otherwise.
"Barnes & Noble CEO backs selling AI-written books in stores" Absolutely the fuck not. Buy and order from indies (many ship!). If money's a worry, libraries can help you - even with ebooks! But no there is no reason to just roll over and accept jerks pushing ai inevitability. Hit them in the wallet
You know i was always confused by that scene in return of the jedi where the robots are getting tortured in Jabbaβs palace like why would you torture a robot but now that ive experienced a world with ai, yeah, yeah, i would like to put Chatgpt and Claude on The Rack
In this week's newsletter I'm writing about trans kids' right to privacy in their medical records, and how nobody in the mainstream bothers giving lip service to it. Medical privacy laws were written with HIV stigma as the primary concern, this was always a queer issue. assignedmedia.org/support/
Death is likely the next tarot card I will have tattooed on me. My left forearm has the queen of swords. The right forearm has the wheel of fortune, which is my perspective on my life. I've been trying to choose my next two. Contenders: Death 4 of Swords 1 of Staves 9 of Pentacles 10 of Cups
It fascinates me how people internalize certain tarot cards. I always looked at tarot not as a harbinger of a future, but as meditative device to tell us where we are at. We are creating stories in our heads and relating them to our personal experiences, and that will tell you a lot about yourself.
"The anti-trans organization LGB Norway has held its annual meeting, and at the end of the meeting they had an 'open conversation' that is fascinating. They do not want to be known as anti-trans... While the little political activity they have engaged in has ONLY been about being anti-trans. π€"
In case you've ever wondered what it's like to be trans in 2026: friends are texting each other today to be safe again, as we do every week, because the richest man in the world is yet again boosting false claims that neo-Nazis who attacked the Mosque were trans and there's a conspiracy to hide it.
Wait a minute... Are we actually losing the ability to use the Google search engine? This... sucks. I have tried to leave Google behind, but it's remained the most functional search engine. Not as good as it once was, but still providing an easier way to find what I want than its competitors.
A thriving metropolis at the center of commerce on the Mississippi, Memphis was struck by a yellow fever outbreak in 1878. White residents fled, abandoning Black residents to their fate. Nearly 150 years later, attitudes towards Memphis are still characterized by callous disregard and dismissal.
"As has become clear to many people in the LGBTQIA+ community, Labour's lurch to the right has meant the party is not the one we once knew. "They have shown that we have to treat them the way we treated the Conservatives: as the opposition, not our allies." Our full analysis β¬
When the bans dropped, I made a promise to myself that I would engage in malicious compliance - I would use a women's room if the law required me to do so, risk arrest, and make people uncomfortable. I haven't broken my pledge, but I was just in Texas and of course I wound up avoiding bathrooms.
