π―% this! Been saying this for years... "Actions taken based on AI guidance are simply your actions. None of the standard laws that govern the conduct of organizations disappear when AI technology is involved. Several recent court cases make this point clear." www.insidehighered.com/opinion/view...
Maybe now we can also mention the endorsement for the white supremacist conspiracy theorist, the way he channeled Protocols of Elders of Zion, his silence in response to an explicit Nazi endorsement? Not because Platner was himself a Nazi; because he was, & is, a disingenuous opportunistic asshole.
I donβt want to hear any BS from anybody saying βPlatner was the liberalsβ faultβ or βhe was the leftβs fault.β Iβve been yelled at by plenty from across the lib/left spectrum for opposing Platner. There was widespread denial of the obvious asshattery of this man.
lol holy christ he wasn't even all that impressive he simply seemed impressive next to mills, who was barely alive and seriously couldn't read the room on data centers ffs he was not this secret existential threat to the democratic establishment get over yourself
"Offering a rare glimpse at the priorities of a top spy organization, Canadaβs Communications Security Establishment (CSE) said it conducted a handful of state-authorized hacks last year in order to disrupt the operations of drug traffickers, violent extremists, and a ransomware gang."
First they came for... It's all interconnected. Authoritarians & fascists see & act on the connections; you should too. Turkey intensifies crackdown on public life in run-up to Nato summit: 200+ arrested in raids, comedians & journalists jailed, gay-friendly cruise turned away, protests banned.
This was set up to be one of the most expensive races in the country. Turning such a huge money faucet off is the equivalent of turning on the lights at a club at the end of the night. Iβll be shocked if Platner tries to stick it out. I mean, thereβs zero chance this is the last story to drop.
I've been having so much fun with John Oliver being on General Hospital. At first I thought he was playing the head of the CIA, but no, he's the head of a fictional agency that's existed on this show for decades. And the fan wiki for the WSB is wild. general-hospital.fandom.com/wiki/World_S...
Re: Platner, my feeling was always that he sounded sincere and had good politics but I would have liked to have seen him do something great in between "PalantΓr subcontractor" and "member of the US Senate." He either wasn't vetted or he was and no one cared. Either way, he should step down.
Today, I was blessed to see the mural of Brigid of Faughart, saint & goddess, in Dundalk, Ireland. Her words on a building across the street: "I am born on the threshold between worlds, between the wastelands of despair and the promise of a new dawn." (att. Brigid, Book of Lismore) Artist: Friz
Platner is finished and needs to drop out immediately, while the race to beat Susan Collins can be saved. I wanted to believe his past, as bad as it was, didn't have to define his present. But it's clearly not even his past. This is just who he is. What an absolute disaster for the people of Maine.
Calley Means keeps making pointed remarks about journalists in the crowd who write about Bobby Kennedy. I donβt recognize anyone, but I guess someone here has really pissed Calley off. Kind of weird since thereβs 29 people here, and a handful of them are related to another speaker.
