About a fifth of the amount of huckleberries I usually pick this time of year, which makes me sad. But it's still a lot more than I thought I would be able to pick so soon after back surgery. Thankful for tall bushes, though my quads still got a good workout from doing about 100 squats.

Look at this outrageously weird, fanged, strawberry-scented orchid flower! Bulbophyllum lasiochilum is an outlier because most of the genus smells horrendous, but these blooms have a lovely fragrance along with the fascinatingly varied and complex flower anatomy typical of bulbos. 🪴🌱

Me Easter lily cactus at work grew four fat flower buds, but I knew it was gonna bloom while I was out of the office so I decided to bring it home.
HOWEVER, the car ride was so bumpy that three of the flowers fell off 😭. I stuck them in a vase instead and they still opened (second photo). 🌱🪴

Took a walk to Charlie’s Garden in McCall in the rain this evening. Touched my favorite rock, enjoyed all the panther lilies in bloom, and visited the pond where I learned to fish as a tot (it was bigger, deeper, and stocked with rainbows then).
