EverQuest used a pyramid crafting structure.
Spider silks dropped from mobs.
2 silk make a thread.
2 thread make a strip.
3 strips make a swatch.
4 swatches make a cloth.
4 cloths make a bolt.
It's been years so the numbers and names are prolly not exact, but you get the point.
The sentiment of the time is that the WoW devs were EverQuest players first and they *fixed* a lot of the annoying mechanics of EQ as part of their original build.
Things like flight paths and world travel were so much better in WoW
Here's where I come in.... crafting.
I was an EverQuest player first. Before WoW came around, that was the biggun in the MMO scene. I played that one for about 6 years til my college throttled it from the network and it became unplayable.
I knew some WoW beta players, but I didn't pick it up til year 2 when some of my friends got in
I might finally get to meet a friend in December who I used to play EverQuest with. She lives ‘across the pond’ and we’ve known each other over half our lives. 😄
