Microgame design. You feel it with a lot of combat systems. Making it a series of unrelated mechanics gives the appearance of depth and cinematic flow. Dodge blue, parry red, cinematic health chunker. Maybe you bite their heels along the way but it does little. More warioware than final fight.

the game awards suck for a lot of reasons but releasing your list in nov/dec before bangers like Unbeatable and Skate Story came out is really entirely disqualifying to the entire GOTY2025 thing

I wish I knew before getting into it how addictive tool making is. It's almost like you could make a game out of them. Also the floor is lava. #indiegame #indiedev #gamedev

Travelers visiting the United States from countries like Britain, France, Germany and South Korea could soon have to undergo a review of up to five years of their social media history, according to a proposal filed on Tuesday by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The change would affect visitors eligible for the visa waiver program, which allows people from 42 countries to travel to the United States for up to 90 days without a visa as long as they first obtain electronic travel authorization.

In a document filed on Tuesday in the Federal Register, C.B.P. said it plans to ask applicants for a long list of personal data including social media, email addresses from the last decade, and the names, birth dates, places of residence and birthplaces of parents, spouses, siblings and children.

Under the current system, applicants from visa waiver countries must enroll in the Electronic System for Travel Authorization program. They pay $40 and submit an email address, home address, phone number and emergency contact information. The authorization is good for two years.

Yeah I'm done. I'd rather animate within Blender than go through that. I got spoiled by #UnrealEngine : One nice shared skeleton that's automatically recognized as long as it has the same data. I was shocked to learn that exporting a skeleton from Blender and bringing it back doesn't recognize it.

graduated to using a "line" sprite, graduated to using gamemaker's primitives (because apparently GM's normal shape drawing is NOT efficient and produced just as much lag). Started with a line strip per flower, but that didn't solve much.

There’s a list of games that influence us: Firewatch, Oxenfree, Monkey Island. But the main ideas came from a long-form article about snow leopards. And shows like Gravity Falls and Twin Peaks. Indies shouldn’t just find inspo in other games! All of it helps shape Lone Pine. 🌲 #wishlistwednesday

Every #thegameawards I create a 5x5 bingo board and it's rare when I get to cross something off before the event in question. Referring to the #residentevil9 leak that happened. Get the feeling that something is gonna be shown at the game awards about that and that it's gonna be really good.
