So many thoughts. Some takeaways:
☉Intentionality about politics can make games better at many levels, incl. mechanical ones
☉You can mechanize so many interpersonal actions besides combat!
☉We indie designers need to keep helping each other + new entrants, building a parallel network to Big Games

Been thinking about this article I wrote a couple months ago as I've noticed that the AI music problem on YouTube is getting worse. In the article I mainly focused on videogame music, but today some other "80s citypop" AI slop found its way on to my homepage.
The internet keeps devolving into slop.

I use GDevelop now that I a bounded to IPadOS but RPG Architect actually was my first Engine when it was in EA.
Then jumped to Unreal and now I am happily using GDevelop.
It’s so great that there are so many Engines to choose and if none seems to be fitting some build their own 😅

I’m of many minds about AAA games as a consumer and hobbyist game developer/modder
I think one of the major factors to game costs being so high is that the development is often done primarily by people who have never done it before
Inexperience leads to inefficiency and worse results at high cost
