I suspect that the reason the Commonwealth Games isn't being shown live is that Scotland doesn't have its own national broadcaster. The BBC refused to show the Glasgow games but will show London's Diamond League Athletics.
A successful games boosts Glasgow & boosts Scotland.
They can't screen that!
