What I'm hoping is that journalists cover the election as if this is normal. I want them to ask Farage to respond to Binface's policies in detail. Make this whole thing as absurd as possible

The good thing about none of the major parties running in Clacton and Count Binface running against Farage is that it effectively gives Farage nothing to run against, aside from complaining he's running against a man with a bin on his head, which is inherently funny.

One thing that did rather endear Count Binface to me is that he refused to ask for any funds to pay for the double-page spread in the London Mayoral candidate leaflet, saying that he'd rather his supporters spend it on more useful stuff.
That did help him pass my "grifter or not" test.

I find the novelty candidates a bit tedious. What was initially funny soon wears thin, and they distract from what should be a serious situation.
However, Farage v Binface is the spectacle he deserves. I hope the press simply ignore it.
