The 2026 WHCA dinner was ill-advised from the start and hypocrisy to call it a free speech celebration. I admire Weijia Jiang and all on the board but Trump's plan was payback by humiliating his hosts. Now the WHCA has a second chance to do the right thing and cancel — or change the format.

I believe people believed Ms Lorenz went to the WHCA because she was photographed posing against a blue background with "White House Correspondents Association" logo repeated on it.

30 years ago I was in a Frontline documentary on how WHCA dinner was distillation of insider-ism at core of "savvy" DC coverage. I published a book (Breaking the News) on similar theme back at that time.

I’m not saying the #WHCA dinner breach by a man allegedly carrying weapons, was staged, but I am saying there is a lot that is deeply suspicious surrounding this incident. It’s on video that “shots fired” were security services. Did #ColeAllen discharge a weapon? 🤷♀️ He didn’t get anywhere near Trump.
