I deleted TikTok back when the Oracle purchase was announced but if you've still got it, you GOTTA dump it. Especially for trans folks. It straight up says in the new TOS that they--Oracle, the company that has active ties to the Trump admin--are monitoring and documenting trans and NB users.

Seeing videos on TikTok of
people claiming they’ve been fired from Kohls and Sephora stores in Minnesota after managers found out the workers we t to protest ICE.
Vids are the same style, with long text explaining the situation but also a section about secret corp websites that for discounts. Odd.

The original argument for banning TikTok was data privacy concerns.
Yet US social media and video apps collected the exact some data, but they were never threatened with a ban.
A real solution would have been to ban / regulate them all.
But it was always about who controlled / monetized TikTok.

I feel like I've been released from my shackles deleting TikTok from my phone. Didn't delete my accounts cause I'm not giving up my digital real estate. But I honestly want to be free from all these apps. I wanna go back to irl, pre-social media life so bad.
