man, seeing folks on a forum i frequent actually be *sad* that 4chan got hacked and taken offline cuz of their "niche communities that aren't at all like the rest of the site" REALLY makes me not wanna be there anymore. Like, y'all really excused the bigotry/toxicity that site generated??

Heard 4chan got hacked. Honestly, I thought it died ages ago, like Google Stadia. Well, here's hoping it's legit gone forever now. 99.9% of it's userbase is either on Twitter or in Congress anyway.

one of the underrated losses with 4chan's death is that no other website shows the filename of images that are uploaded, which means I now have an image labeled "morphine administered.jpg" for no actual reason now

About 4chan. Lol, finally. In general, the best thing anyone can do now is change their password to a more secure one, consisting of random numbers, letters and symbols. If you have a server, you can hold a routine meeting of admins, discuss security holes, maybe someone will have ideas, etc.

When I was in high school I had a friend who was OBSESSED with 4Chan and was constantly telling us about these “jokes”. A lot of it was racist nonsense from what I remember. He kept me away from the site. Which was ultimately a net positive I think. Anyhow, good riddance.
