Old Faithful eruption + Milky Way Galactic Center 27,000 light-years away In-effect we are looking back in time when we stare up at the stars Space science is mind-boggling 🌌 #Yellowstone #Photography #NationalParks #Astrophotography #Nightsky #Milkyway #Stars #ProtectOurParks #ParkChat #Astro
Old Faithful geyser erupting in front of the Milky Way Galaxy. While difficult to see there is also a buffalo just to the right of the geyser!

Here's a look at the afternoon sun today, from our backyard with a 50 mm/F7 dedicated H-alpha solar telescope. Flare activity jumped to moderate over the past 24 hours. An M flare from sunspot area AR4078 at 10:02 UTC (2 AM PST) produced an R1 (minor) radio blackout over Egypt. #astrophotography

As promised, I'm back again with a fresh solar image. The big sunspot is around the bend and should be visible with eclipse glasses soon! Fingers crossed for some flares and aurora fun! Details + full res: buff.ly/zRwqYfr #sun #sunspots #astrophotography #photography #space #telescope 🔭 📷 🧪
A full disk solar image captured in monochrome and colorized to be orange. Small sunspots dot the surface, but there is a large one coming into view from the left side.

The crescent Moon, but a longer exposure showing the crescent lit by the Sun and the dark part lit by sunlight reflecting off the Earth and back to the Moon. With some wispy clouds - because Ireland. #Moon #luna #earthshine #Ireland #photography #astrophotography #Olympus #Zuiko #250mm #F2

What an amazing start to the year it's been for astrophotography in the UK. More clear nights than we would normally expect in an entire year or more! #astrophotography #astronomy

Lovely new moon here in Oxfordshire in the UK. Taken about 30 mins after sunset. It's like high summer here. Temperature hit 27DegC today. A normal very good day would be the high teens (C). #Astrophotography

This is a cool image to geek out with. Last night's 2.5% illuminated, 1.5 day old Moon is crossed by Starlink 31768 (probably). I had seen several satellites pass in front of the Moon but didn't think I had caught one. #crescent #moon #satellites #astro #astrophotography #earthshine

#astrophotography 🔭

Last night was suppose to be clear but it was partly cloudy. I captured roughly 3 hours of data but unfortunately only an hour was good. Here's the Lobster (NGC6357), Cat Paw (NGC6334) and Bug (NGC6302) Nebulae. #astrophotography #photography

#10. August 7, 1978: Here I caught a very close conjunction between Venus and the Moon. It brought back fond memories of a pre-dawn occultation of Venus that fueled my early interest of astronomy 4 years earlier. Taken on Kodak Tri-X film with my Pentax SLR. #astronomy #astrophotography #moon
