Here's my piece for the #oohchiczine fashion zine! It's an honor to be a part of this project for a third year in a row :) Please check out the full zine and everyone else's pieces on oohchiczine.com 🦋💙
An art nouveau inspired double page spread with Khar'rel in a fancy blue dress and headdress with golden embellishments and jewelry. The text on the right page reads"Whats the cost of being blue? ULTRAMARINE BLUE is a pigment derived from the lapis lazuli stone. Though lapis lazuli on its own is relatively inexpensive compared to other more precious materials, the laborious process of producing ultramine is what contributes to its high price point. Luckily for the country of Ellandrea, we have our own natural source of lapis lazuli from mines managed by the Dhukan tieflings that travel thoughout the Vrokors highlands. This bodes well for one Yotul Shalur, Ellandrea's new rising star in the fashion world. His latest collection revolves around the incorporation of ultramine blue, with the centerpiece being a luxurious gown and headpiece debuted by his husband at the Oesti Gala. Though the artist himself was unavailable for comment, Khar'rel Shalur was more than eager to provide us with exclusive insight to his husband's artistic intensions... Cont. on page 6."

If burgundy is the colour of the new season then how about this? Continuing my theme of matchy matchy, here some #1950s vintage Dior comprising an off the shoulder gown with a voluminous matching coat #museumatfit #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡
A burgundy silk off the shoulder Dior dress with ruched fitted bodice and fairly full mid length skirt
A silk burgundy coat photographed from the back to show the voluminous swathe of fabric and dramatic three quarter sleeves

Sorting through a few photos from a recent project shoot. Thought it would be neat to work with Lomo Metropolis film loaded in the LC-A. I like the results a lot. The character of the vintage Japanese boro really came through. Def gonna do more studio project work with the LC-A.
A vintage Japanese boro jacket displayed on a dress form, shown from the front. The garment is pieced together with large panels of faded indigo and muted plum fabric, stitched vertically and horizontally. Areas of wear and repair are visible, with fraying edges and hand-sewn reinforcement, giving the jacket a patchwork, weathered look.
The back of a vintage Japanese boro jacket displayed on a dress form. The indigo-dyed cotton is patched with layers of fabric in varied shades of blue, from deep navy to faded sky tones, with visible stitching and frayed edges. The patchwork forms a rough grid of stripes, plaids, and solids, showing extensive wear and repair.

More human production happening regardless of machine abilities 😃

As you might recall I love to sew my own clothes. I also love clothes IN GENERAL, their features, their details. In my efforts to shift to make>buy sometimes I force myself to sketch a piece I really love, to break down WHAT I love
A hand drawn ink sketch by Cat in a notebook that shows a cropped hoodie with unusually dramatic sleeves. Details are noted in the sketch like thick pullstrings, sleeve detail, and narrow shoulder
