Another interesting collection to the actinic & MV overnight. A pristine Dark Sword-grass was the pick of the migrant moths, while a surprise Bunny Moth is easily our latest record to date. A bit faded now but the bunny's still there! @linnetincley.bsky.social #cleymothobs #norfolkmoths #teammoth

Considering we're 30 miles inland, we had a surprising number of migrants in our trap for today's Grosvenor & Hilbert Park moth event - including Vestal (left) and seven L-album Wainscot (right)

Trapping around Cothill Fen this week produced some nice moths including Clifden Nonpareil! Evergestis limbata was the rarest to turn up, and it was nice to see Vestal and other migrants #teammoth @freshwaterhabitats.bsky.social @upperthames.bsky.social @bbowt.bsky.social @migrantmothuk.bsky.social

In our garden, at least, #mothing is about the browns of decaying leaves. So to see an unseasonably late, vibrant-green Scarce Silver-lines this morning was a treat. Especially as the best migrant - on what I was hoping would be a decent night - was Dark Sword-grass. #teammoth #MuchAdoAboutMothing

The temperature is certainly good, but we've had constant drizzle, which wasn't forecast. A bit breezy as you say, but noting ventured... Hopefully, you get your Black Rustic ๐ŸคžIt's about time I had a decent migrant here ๐Ÿ™. Take heed moth gods!

It almost escaped trying to pot it but in the end I've got my 2nd very rare migrant moth at light this autumn, Diasemiopsis ramburialis! About the 16th for Belgium since 1980 and my 708th garden species, hopefully better pics this evening... #mothmigration #insectmigration #mothsmatter

This morning, I discovered a Vestal in the trap, which is bittersweet. Aside from the fact that it's a new tick for my garden, it doesn't even have a hint of pink. It's a scarce migrant moth where I live in VC61. #teammoth #mothsmatter #moths #leptember @migrantmothuk.bsky.social

A bevy of Beauties in last nights trap included a NFG Lilac Beauty that took my breath away. The migrants were mainly imagined whistling overhead in the southerly, heading for Minehead it seems. ECB, ferrugalis and a tired (?retrapped) Vestal consoled. Next, a camping (&ninja #teammoth ing!) break.
Pink and mottled brown moth that caught me by surprise
Willow beauty trying to keep up by choosing the stunning (pink) ice plant.
Bordered beauty that appears to have lived a long and busy life!
