It doesn’t bode well for vision science, such poor critical thinking skills. Those shoes, jeans choices and a social gathering.

Philanthropy is driving innovation at Duke Eye Center. A recent $1.5M gift is advancing pediatric ophthalmology, supporting research, education, and care for patients. This investment empowers future leaders in vision science and brings hope to families. At Duke, we're #MadeForThis.

This was a whole lot of fun. The paper is unapologetically nerdy (even by vision science standards), and it was also a dream come true to work with Hugh Wilson extending his model to a new domain. The first paper in the series ⬇️ www.biorxiv.org/content/1….

So, my lab studies readability and gaze behaviour - among other topics in vision science - and this is *absolutely* on the list of "things I would love to do with a high-speed eye tracker some day"

🔬 Restoring vision with eye transplants has long been out of reach—but BrightFocus-funded research is changing that. Dr. Jason Meyer's work may not only help restore sight lost to glaucoma, but could reshape what we thought possible in vision science. Find out more. ⤵️

In a sour mood. My former institution the @moraneyecenter.bsky.social would not let me take the little old Zeiss microscope that one of the gods of vision science, Helga Kolb gave to me when I was a graduate student. That had sentimental value. Apparently someone dropped it on the floor today.

More vision science questions... we just got a secondhand Minolta CS-100... and anytime we try to take a measurement, we get the E0 (luminance too high) error. Any thoughts?
