We have set internal goals of solving vision by September of 2026, and a full understanding of the human mind and brain by Q2 2028. I will undoubtedly fail at this goal, but I will be transparent for accountability.

I have set internal goals of the ability to fly using the light of your yellow sun by September of 2026, and a full set of superpowers by March of 2028. I may totally fail at this goal, but given the extraordinary potential impacts I think it is in the public interest to be transparent about this.

Another addition to my #VisionScience teaching website: A new hands-on demo for DIY Binocular Rivalry! All you need are anaglyph glasses & matching colored pencils to watch your two eyes fight for your visual awareness. Students really like this one and it's super quick to do. #STEMEducation

Very proud of this great piece of multi-lab work by Kabir & Husta, et al. Want to measure attention across the visual field (without interfering with ongoing perceptual/attentional processes)? Use RIFT! Here we share our how-to-RIFT knowledge, including analysis code, quantitative comparisons, ..

Planning on running a RIFT study? In a new manuscript, we put together the RIFT know-how accumulated over the years by multiple labs (@lindadrijvers.bsky.social, @schota.bsky.social, @eelkespaak.bsky.social, with Cecília Hustá and others). Preprint: osf.io/preprints/ps...

We find that the influence of the frame extends somewhat in space, but not in time. Motion signals don't play much of a role; the frame effect is dominated by the perceived position of the frame. This tells us that our visual system localizes objects relative to their reference frame.
