My favourite parts of #GameDev are UI painting, art, and 3D sculpting... but to get to that part, there are often long stretches where the game looks like this while all the maths and science goes in xD

DirectX support will also be there, as well as support for 144fps Vsync, and a KAZILLION small improvements and fixes, like render distance controls so you can absolutely push your decoration count to the limit πŸ‘» thanks #Godot!!

◝(α΅”α—œα΅”)β—œ I've had some requests for decoration clearing and resetting, and those will be coming real soon in 1.3b... a couple of you have encountered the mysterious "everything goes blank" bug, I'm hoping this has been addressed with the new #Godot engine version but I'm keeping a close eye on it

Having different public versions for the first time is a spicy learning curve!! I'm trying to think through situations like "what if I send a garden file to my friend who has an older version of the game" to prevent people losing data #Godot

Been tinkering in a #Godot 4.4 playground and GOODNESS GRAVY, the material quick-selection previews and instant file structure modification times are crazy!! Jade Spring is hanging out on 4.3 for the meantime, but goshhh it's hard to go back from that snappiness xD

I found some footage of Dwelt experiments from Sep 2024... so much of this tech ended up in Jade Spring, so it was really useful! Like the camera and foliage system... I'd really love to visit this vibe and world sometime #GameDev #Godot

Okie, final nerding-out tonight for real! This is my chaotic little conversion script which sorts hint text into tokens which are either 'input binding' or 'not input binding' - it can then use one of many functions in my big utility script to find the player's actual key associated with that input

Been really sore today (α΅•β€”α΄—β€”) so I'm trying to take it easy for the weekend... before I sleep here's a nerd post, been working on tweaks like universal key-binding functions, hehe; lets me write hints like this which will always properly update to reflect the player's key bindings #GameDev
