We’re chanting ATTICA, ATTICA, ATTICA! because it’s the 50th anniversary of the legendary Sidney Lumet’s DOG DAY AFTERNOON, led by the incomparable Al Pacino. Is DOG DAY AFTERNOON your favorite Pacino performance or your favorite Lumet film? Have you read MAKING MOVIES yet?

I took myself out to dinner last night and brought a book with me. The servers went out of their way to give me the best table at the bar so I could have privacy to read and were so nice the whole night. Also the food was good and I gorged myself so much I went to bed early. 10/10 would do it again.

Love San Sebastián forever, of course, but I would like a word with the town planner who decided that a city with an annual rainfall of over 1500mm should be mostly paved with smooth black marble

Producer notes: don't you think this metaphor for America's moral decline is a little on-the-nose? Maybe look at that in the next draft?

Morning Bluesky. America is taking part in Russia’s rival to Eurovision.

Every year Google Photos gives me a jolly little 'walk in the woods!' montage which includes that time I (literally and legally) went digging in a cemetery trying to find the overgrown grave of a 19th century portrait artist.

Google Photos is trying to sell me a physical book of my Hurricane Ian evacuation photos from three years ago, because algorithms may find a bunch of pictures with the same tag, but clearly don't have the context to judge why I wouldn't want an album of out of state power trucks heading south on I75
