🌞 Why did the solar panel break up with the wind turbine? Because it needed more space to shine! 😄 But seriously, solar power isn't just for homes; commercial buildings can save big! ⏳ Ready to harness that sun? Check out GreensboroSolarPanels.org for tips on going solar!

Beyond beauty, sunflowers are permaculture powerhouses! 🌻 They create living trellises for climbers (beans/cukes), provide dynamic shade for cool-season crops, draw in beneficial insects, and their deep roots improve soil structure. Chop-and-drop stalks add biomass! #Permaculture #Sunflowers

I totally should have got a heat pump when we replaced our furnace a few years ago but a) the folks we bought from (who sell heat pumps) said not to, b) my electrician said not to, and c) the rebate/inspection process was extremely confusing to navigate. mstdn.ca/@Sanderde/114689…

Lake Pukaki (the blue color is caused by glacial flour) is a crucial component of the Waitaki hydroelectric scheme. It also receives water from Lake Tekapo via a canal & together with Lake Tekapo, it provides over half of New Zealand's hydroelectricity storage capacity. #geography #climate #nature
Lake Pukaki, New Zealand, is famous for its vibrant, milky turquoise-blue water. This striking hue isn't due to artificial coloring, but rather a natural phenomenon caused by "glacial flour." This is extremely fine rock dust, pulverized by the movement of glaciers, that remains suspended in the water and scatters sunlight, particularly blue wavelengths, giving the lake its distinctive glow.
