I'm sorry, but "the incarcerated and their families should be ripped off by a handful of sleazy telecom companies with a government monopoly" is not a position that can be held by anyone with any morals or ethics. Everyone involved in this is cruel, rotten, and irredeemable.

🚨The FCC just announced it will defy federal law. It is delaying implementation of the bipartisan Martha Wright-Reed Act, a bill authored by Senator @duckworth.senate.gov that ensures prison communications are priced fairly and no longer exploit incarcerated people and their families. 🧵

I use dog training metaphors with my therapist all the time to describe my mental state, and thankfully he actively welcomes them

In my and my partners experience, we 100% need meds AND lots of exercise, but they definitely have very good impacts on each other

people who think that exercise can always be substituted for therapy and medication are hilariously wrong, presenting myself and many of the people I know as evidence

it’s funny because the usual social media bad take on this subject is more like “people don’t need therapy they just need to get more exercise”

I suppose the implication was that I’m some sort of exercise dysmorphia person but nah this is just basic sanity maintenance for me

I think if you're at the gym 6 days a week, it has nothing to do with your physical condition, and you might want to swap out 4 of those gym days for therapist visits.

I really plan on doing an Assam and Nagaland ghost pepper-eating trip and turning it into a fun little book or something

do they gotta be sexist about it though, I’d say I’ve encountered more white boys who will die upon encounter with a single pepper molecule than white girls, let’s be real

Oh yeah, we’ve been getting into studying chile peppers in recent years and there is so much interesting nuance in different types of heat and chile flavors! It’s really fun to experiment with.
