when they get a Tink or component its almost never good enough their mind, I think alot of it is because emulated videos of PS2 games upscaled (and Ps1 games running at 2x res) has many thinking that is how PS2 looked originally

44 minutes agoSame! Played it originally on an XT with Hercules monochrome monitor. Absolutely loved it and definitely shaped my childhood game tastes.
When we finally upgraded to a 386 with a sound blaster and VGA monitor, my mind was officially blown.

one of the funniest things on reddit is on the ps2 sub where everyone is either asking how to get a better quality image than composite or how they can upscale output without spending much money. For some reason PS2 output is imagined as HD / without flaws in way too many ppl's memories

most terminal emulators nowadays support 24bit color codes with rgb specifications, so it doesn't REALLY matter what colors you choose for authenticity
limitation only matters in 8bit or 4bit modes..
