Nope! Just because he was canceled for a minute doesn’t mean that he is actually funny, let alone a funny political comedian.

So are you going to watch Jimmy Kimmel tonight?

my dad told me enough stories about the 1969 Cubs that I will always and forever hate the New York Mets.

I disagree with Kasparian on a *lot*, and I actually don't agree with suspending Kimmel at all, but I think her take here is a relatively normal, first amendment position. the platform does actually have the right to moderate itself and do what it wants. ppl are free to watch or do something else.

Ana Kasparian's only problem with ABC's suspension of Jimmy Kimmel over his monologue about Charlie Kirk was that the government pressured ABC. She says she'd have no problem with ABC suspending him over the comments if they did it on their own.

however u want to approach the complexity of liberal and left internationalisms, this is a significant problem. imho the main problems involve the denial of the transnational contours of the problem and a failure to engage with the problematics of populist discourse on a deeper level.

I'm gonna be real US liberals have not demonstrated any capacity whatsoever to organize itself against what I often see referred to as the fascist international. I don't think US leftists are either, to be frank.

one of the many wrong criticisms of ppl who focus on foreign influence is that they are attempting to ignore domestic hate in favor of an idealistic view that it's caused by something "outside." stimulated, yes, but not created by the external element. there're endogenous and exogenous causes.

This guy would have loved 4Chan
Classified ad from the 1980s in which a man says he wants to contact members of the John Birch Society and "other interested conservatives who are alone or feel alone."

the US does need to deal with its problems before it can lead anyone on anything, but leadership doesn't need to be viewed in a negative way... understanding our many historical mistakes means using those lessons to improve conscientious and ethical international engagement rather than abandoning it

It is fully irresponsible to argue for an American return to global leadership. This country is deeply unwell and has no business leading anything until that's no longer the case. There's a whole world out there capable of tending to the world's problems. We must tend to ours.
