Or we can use solar panels AND rewet drained peatlands. Not only does that stop their CO2 emissions: 7% of Germany's CO2 comes from drained peatland! Globally it's 2-3Gt CO2 per year! Healthy wetlands also continuously and near-permanently hide CO2. Without filling up limited safe storage sites.

We can find suitable land with sunlight, water, and nutrients to grow plants, wait years to harvest the biomass and burn it for energy, hope to capture the CO₂ with carbon capture and storage technology, and find a suitable spot to bury the CO₂ permanently. OR we can use solar panels.
