A recent commission, watercolor with ink and shell gold. The commissioner wanted me to dream up a “sandman Universe” version of Poison Ivy, so I imagined her as a fairy tale like denizen of Queen Titania’s court!

I really like the writers that capture the side of Wade that is under constant pain, which is one of the reasons he’s always joking (to distract himself) and a reason he wants to relieve the pain of others. (The recent “Deadpools & Wolverines” had great “your nuts, but your heart is good” dialogue.)

This is tough, because I feel no Batman story is "essential." Some are better than others, but you don't need any of them. Batman's a folklore character now, like Robin Hood. Ur-texts are not required

Actually, no, nor does the linked text indicate otherwise. Coming from five generations of felons, fools, madmen and drunks, at 13 I made a choice to never drink, a vow that still applies. I have no issues with others drinking, I just don't do it myself, and have never urged anyone else to drink.

Doing my own writing for decades, did the scripts on the adaptations I worked on, even did some of my own lettering by hand, my name/credits are all over the freaking books, and I still have to tell people I actually did the art and writing and lettering. Don't know why it's hard to sink in.
