My colleagues and I are also bringing forward a resolution on the city council calling for Congress to act. It would support the repealing of the Laken Riley Act, the Melt ICE Act to end the DHS funding to detain or monitor immigrants, the Abolish ICE Act that would dismantle ICE, & other matters.

The tipoff that this was in bad faith was her looking around the room and saying all the young faces don't match the demographics of the neighborhood. Probably has no idea that 65% of the neighborhood is between 18-34. But a public meeting doesn't feel right if it's not all white hair.

It’s day 64 of the ICE occupation of MSP. Today ICE officers once again arrested observers at gunpoint, caused lockdowns of neighborhood schools, and harassed people on the street simply for their skin color. Nothing has changed, despite the rhetoric from “leaders.”

Yeah, my caucus was like 3/4 people over the age of 75 (we have a big senior apartment building) and while we passed a variety of resolutions, that one passed with a lot of extra vehemence.
